Final schedules taking shape

Pencil in a few updates to Kansas University’s 2006-07 men’s basketball schedule.

The time of the KU-DePaul game, Dec. 2 at Chicago’s Allstate Arena, has been set for 1 p.m. Also, the KU-Iowa State game on Jan. 13 in Ames will be a 1 p.m. tip.

KU’s game at Texas Tech on Jan. 20 will be a 3 p.m. tip, not the previously announced time of 11 a.m.

KU is looking to add one final game to the men’s slate.

The women’s schedule has been completed with the addition of a Jan. 17 home game against Sacramento State, set for 7 p.m.

Some women’s game times previously unannounced have been set. The Jan. 24 game at Kansas State will be 7 p.m.; the Feb. 3 game at Texas A&M 3 p.m.; the Feb. 10 game at Texas 5 p.m., and the Feb. 24 game at Colorado, 8 p.m.

¢ Clinic on tap: The 2006 Bill Self Kansas basketball coaches clinic will be held on Oct. 28.

The annual event, which includes presentations by the KU coaching staff, an invitation to Kansas practice and a ticket to the KU football game versus Colorado, will be held in Allen Fieldhouse.

The cost of the clinic is $55 per pre-registered coach and $60 for coaches who do not pre-register.

¢ Recruiting: Anthony Randolph, a 6-foot-10 senior forward from Dallas, will make an official recruiting trip to Kansas for the Oct. 13 Late Night in the Phog. He will be joined by 6-8 senior Kyle Singler of South Medford, Ore., and Cole Aldrich, 6-11 from Bloomington, Minn. Aldrich has already committed to KU. … Coaches from KU, Arkansas and Missouri State were to watch Roeland Park Miege junior guard Travis Releford play in an open gym situation on Tuesday night at Miege’s gym, rivals.com reports. He’s also considering North Carolina, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Wichita State and Virginia. … Jon Leuer, a 6-10 forward from Orono, Minn., visited Notre Dame last weekend. He will visit Iowa, Louisville and Minnesota in coming weeks. Leuer, who has visited Iowa State, remains on KU coach Bill Self’s radar, but has not been offered a scholarship yet.
