? The Kansas University women’s golf team sits in eighth place following the first round of the 17-team Colorado State Ptarmigan Ram/Fall Classic.

The Jayhawks have a team score of 295 after the first round.

They actually started play on the second round Monday. However, rain suspended play, forcing completion of that round and the final round today.

Senior Amanda Costner is in seventh place after an opening-round 70, while freshman Emily Powers and junior Annie Giangrosso each fired a 73.

“I am pleased with the morning,” KU coach Erin O’Neil said. “Amanda played great, and Annie and Emily played real steady.”

Colorado is the first-round team leader at 286.
