TULSA ? Kansas University’s Elizaveta Avdeeva won two matches Friday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Wilson/ITA Central Region Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Avdeeva defeated Oklahoma State’s Lauren Simmons and Wichita State’s Stephanie Dalmacio.
KU’s Edina Horvath lost to Arkansas’ Ela Kaluder.
In doubles, Avdeeva-Horvath and Kunigunda Dorn-Yuliana Svistun reached the round of 16, but fell in their bids to reach the quarterfinals.
In consolation play, Svistun moved into the round of 16.
