Kansas volleyball falls to UT

? No. 8-rated Texas swept the Kansas University volleyball team, 30-20, 30-25, 30-20, Wednesday night.

With the loss, the Jayhawks moved to 10-13 on the season and 3-11 in Big 12 play. UT improved to 16-5 and 11-3.

Emily Brown led KU with 10 kills and 10 digs. Jana Correa added nine kills and seven digs, while Savannah Noyes totaled seven kills. Brittany Williams and senior Megan Hill had five kills.

Red-shirt freshman Katie Martincich dished 35 assists to go with her seven digs and is just six assists away from 1,000. Jamie Mathewson totaled 12 digs.

KU will travel to Iowa State on Saturday for a 6:30 p.m. match.

KU committed seven attack errors on a match-high 49 attempts and had 11 kills for a .082 hitting efficiency in the game.

For the match, UT outhit the Jayhawks .349 to .159 and totaled nine blocks to KU’s two.
