Kansas University’s baseball team will travel to Corvallis, Ore., as the No. 2 seed in a four-team NCAA Baseball Tournament Regional, KU announced this afternoon.
The Jayhawks (42-23), who are ranked No. 22, received an automatic berth into the field of 64 teams after winning their first Big 12 title Sunday in a 9-7 victory over Nebraska.
KU goes up Hawaii (43-15), the No. 3 seed at 2 p.m. (Central Time) Friday at Goss Stadium. Oregon State (39-14)) the host team and top seed, will go up against fourth-seed Wright State (32-25) at 7 p.m. Friday.
The double-elimination tourney continues Saturday, with games at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., and on Sunday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. If necessary, the tournament would include a 4 p.m. game Monday, June 5.
