Bacchus, Battle second

? Kansas University’s Charisse Bacchus placed second in the long jump on Saturday at the Big 12 championships at Baylor University’s track.

The indoor All-American’s leap of 21 feet, 6 inches was a new personal best and moved her into second on the all-time KU performance list behind Halcyon McKnight.

Senior Sheldon Battle narrowly missed defending his Big 12 Championship in the men’s discus, placing second with a throw of 194-7.

KU’s women placed sixth after the second day of the meet with 18 points. The men stand in third place with 30 points entering today’s final day.
