Kansas University punter Kyle Tucker was arrested early Friday morning on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence and failure to show proof of insurance, according to Douglas County Jail records.
Tucker, 20, posted $600 bail and was released at 6 a.m. Friday. His case will be handled in Lawrence Municipal Court, according to jail records. An arrest report from Lawrence police was unavailable Friday night.
Tucker is a sophomore from Katy, Texas. During the 2005 season, he was nominated as a semifinalist for the Ray Guy Award, which honors the nation’s top punter.
