Kansas University’s baseball squad has been picked to finish eighth in the Big 12 Conference by league coaches in their preseason poll.

Defending national champion Texas was picked No. 1, followed by Nebraska and Missouri, which each received one first-place vote. Baylor was fourth, followed by Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Kansas, Texas Tech and Kansas State.

The Jayhawks return seven starting position players and two starting pitchers off their 2005 squad that won 36 games.
