Jayhawks, Huskers set

? Rarely do Big 12 Conference softball teams meet in a rubber game, but that will be the case when Kansas and Nebraska collide tonight.

Game time will be 5 p.m. at NU’s stadium.

Big 12 teams play each other twice during the conference season, but Kansas and Nebraska also met in early March at a tournament in Tulsa, Okla. KU won, 4-0, as Serena Settlemier threw a three-hit shutout.

Then, earlier this month, Nebraska visited Arrocha Ballpark in Lawrence and posted a 2-0 victory despite being no-hit by KU’s Kassie Humphreys.

The Cornhuskers pushed across a pair of unearned runs and won despite fanning 10 times and never hitting the ball out of the infield.

Since that defeat, Kansas has won 9 of 12 games, including a 1-0 victory over No. 2-ranked Texas on Sunday as Settlemier and Humphreys combined on a two-hitter.
