Kansas University senior middle blocker Josi Lima was tapped Big 12 volleyball player of the week and Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Assn. national player of the week on Monday.
Lima, a senior from Brazil, is the first Jayhawk to earn the national honor. She had a match-high 19 kills in a 3-0 victory over Texas A&M on Wednesday, then tied a career high with 21 kills in a 3-2 victory Saturday over Oklahoma. It is the second time Lima has won the Big 12 award. The Jayhawks (10-1 overall, 2-0 Big 12) travel Wednesday to Texas.
