Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self attended Saturday’s KU-Appy State game after a quick recruiting trip to Chicago.

Self attended the football game of Chicago Crane point guard Sherron Collins, who after his squad’s 28-26 loss to Marshall, told media he’d be attending KU’s Late Night in the Phog on Oct. 14.

Collins played wide receiver in the game witnessed by Self, Iowa coach Steve Alford and Illinois coach Bruce Weber.

“Illinois fans are scared to death that Self is taking all their recruits away,” Roy Schmidt of Illinois Prep Bulls-Eye told the Chicago Sun Times. Last year, Self landed Julian Wright.
