KU’s Gault named Big 12 Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Kansas University junior defender Holly Gault was named the Big 12 Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.

The Spring Hill, Kan., native scored the game-winning goal in Kansas’ 3-2 double-overtime victory over Missouri on Friday.

The defender’s left-footed 15-yard blast came in the 104th minute and was Gault’s fourth goal of the season.

Gault, who played every minute of the MU match, and the Jayhawks will face Nebraska in the first round of the Big 12 Championship tournament on Wednesday, Nov. 2. Kick off in San Antonio, Texas, is set for 1:30 p.m.
