KU tennis 4-3 in doubles play

? Kansas University’s tennis team went 4-3 in doubles play Sunday at the Hoosier Classic.

Senior Christine Skoda and junior Brittany Brown notched two victories en route to a 13th-place finish.

Freshman Edina Horvath and sophomore Lauren Hommell fell in the consolation finals to Indiana’s Brianna Williams and Dora Vastag, 8-3. The two earlier defeated IU’s Sigrid Fischer and Marah Calvo 8-5.

Freshman Ksenia Bukina and sophomore Elizaveta Avdeeva defeated LSU’s Marina Chiarelli and Mykala Hedberg to advance to the seventh-place match, which was not played.

KU will compete at the ITA Central regionals Oct. 19 in Salt Lake City.
