Norman, Okla. ? Baldwin product Emily Brown had 22 kills, helping Kansas University’s volleyball squad rally for a 3-1 victory Wednesday over Oklahoma. The Jayhawks improved to 14-11 overall and 6-10 in the Big 12 Conference.
Paula Caten and Josi Lima each added 15 kills for the Jayhawks, who lost the first game to the Sooners, 27-30, before winning the final three, 30-27, 30-23, 30-28. The Jayhawks had chances in that first game, though, and easily could have won: There were 11 ties.
Dani Wittman had 17 digs, and Jamie Mathewson added 12 for KU, which will play host Saturday to Texas Tech. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Horejsi Center.
KU coach Ray Bechard also revealed Wednesday the signing of two players to national letters of intent to join the Jayhawks. Paige Mazour, a 6-foot-1 middle blocker/outside hitter from Franklin (Neb.) High, and 6-1 middle blocker Brittany Williams of Atlanta’s Marist School signed with KU.
