KU tennis goes 6-2 at WMU Challenge

? Kansas University’s tennis team ended its fall season with a 6-2 record in singles Sunday on the final day of the Western Michigan University Super Challenge.

Ksenia Bukina, Lauren Hommell, Edina Horvath, Stephanie Smith, Ashley Filberth and Brittany Brown each picked up a victory for KU.

Brown was 3-0 at the tournament in singles competition.

“We had an excellent day against a very good program,” head coach Amy Hall-Holt said of DePaul, KU’s foe Sunday. “This was a great way to close out the fall season.

“Overall, I think the fall season went well. Everyone improved, and if we continue to do that, good things will come for Kansas tennis.”

The Jayhawks will begin their spring season against Ball State on Jan. 22.
