Kansas volleyball stuns Kansas State

By J-W Staff Reports     Nov 6, 2005

? The Kansas University volleyball team ended its eight-game losing streak in impressive fashion Saturday night, knocking off No. 24 Kansas State in four games on the Wildcats’ home floor for its first win over its in-state rival since the 1994 season.

The Jayhawks won 30-28, 24-30, 30-21, 30-25 to give coach Ray Bechard his first Sunflower Showdown victory.

“We came in here and played hard tonight,” Bechard said. “For this team to come back after losing at home to K-State in such disappointing fashion and losing a teammate to injury in that match is a great feeling.”

Sophomore Emily Brown led KU (13-11 overall, 5-10 Big 12) with 19 kills.
