Cross country 12th
Kansas University’s cross country team is ranked 12th in the country in this week’s Mondo Men’s CC rankings. The Jayhawks finished third overall at the Big 12 championship meet, an improvement on their previous best finish, a fourth-place result the past two seasons. In addition to the No. 12 national ranking, the team supplanted the University of Minnesota as the No. 1 team in the Midwest region.
Swimmer honored
Kansas University freshman Ashley Leidigh was named CollegeSwimming.com National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week (NCSW). Leidigh is one of six swimmers to earn the award. The Merriam native joins Sergiy Fesenko (Indiana), Sarah Watson (Ouchita Baptist), Chris Achey (Ouchita Baptist), Kelly Kono (Washington University) and Koji Takahashi (Olivet) as swimmers of the week.
