Simien tapped All-America by USBWA

Kansas University senior Wayne Simien has been named first-team All-America by the United States Basketball Writers Assn.

Others named to the first team: Andrew Bogut, Utah; Dee Brown, Illinois; Chris Paul, Wake Forest; and J. J. Redick, Duke.

The second team: Ike Diogu, Arizona State; Luther Head, Illinois; Sean May, North Carolina; Salim Stoudamire, Arizona; and Hakim Warrick, Syracuse.

Simien also was named to Sports Illustrated’s All-America team. Joining him on the first team: Brown, Redick, Bogut and Diogu.

KU’s Aaron Miles was named honorable-mention by S.I.
