Kansas senior Keith Langford will not play in Friday’s Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal game, KU head coach Bill Self said after Thursday’s practice at Allen Fieldhouse.
Langford, who severely twisted his left ankle in last Sunday’s game against Missouri, has not practiced this week.
“I think he’s definitely out tomorrow, definitely,” Self said. “He’s still not walking without a limp. I do think he’s getting better. I think he’s responded well to rehab, but he won’t play tomorrow.”
Self said there’s “a chance” Langford could play in the semifinals or final if KU advances that far.
“He’s day to day,” Self said, “but as of now, no.”
Self said J.R. Giddens and Michael Lee would join Wayne Simien, Aaron Miles and Christian Moody in the starting lineup for Friday’s game.
