Kansas University’s men’s basketball team must defeat Missouri today to gain an undisputed Big 12 Conference regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in next week’s Big 12 tournament.
A loss to Missouri would give KU a tie for the title, but the No. 2 seed because Oklahoma won and Oklahoma State lost Saturday, giving OU a 12-4 league mark and OSU an 11-5 mark.
If KU loses today, the Jayhawks drop to an identical 12-4 mark and OU has the tiebreaker over KU after beating the Jayhawks during the regular season.
If KU wins today and is No. 1 seed in the tourney it would play the winner of the Nebraska-Kansas State game at noon Friday at Kemper Arena.
If KU loses today and is No. 2 seed, the Jayhawks would play the winner of the Kansas State-Texas A&M game at 6 p.m. Friday.
Seed Nos. 1, 2, 8, 9 and 10 are up for grabs entering today’s final conference game.
