Woodland wins Amateur golf tournament

? Kansas University golfer Gary Woodland edged teammate Tyler Docking by two strokes and won the 81st annual Kansas City Amateur golf tournament Thursday at the Country Club of Blue Springs.

Woodland, from Berryton, shot a 6-under-par 207 over the 54-hole event. Docking carded 209. Kansas State’s Tyler Cummins was third at 210.

Woodland’s second-round 65 was the best of the three-day event.

Jason Sigler, another member of the KU golf team, was fourth with a 211. Lawrence’s Nathaniel Spencer and KU golfer Luke Trammell shared sixth place with 213s.
