Kansas tennis thumped by Texas, 7-0

? Kansas University was thumped by No. 14 Texas, 7-0, in tennis Sunday at the Overland Park Racquet Club.

KU fell to 1-4 overall, 0-1 in the Big 12 Conference.

Kansas’ Christine Skoda and Ashley Filberth beat Texas’ Mia Marovic and Ristine Olson, 8-6, but UT won the other doubles matches and the doubles point, plus the six singles matches.

“I thought our doubles teams really stepped up today,” Kansas coach Amy Hall-Holt said. “We played well with our new doubles lineup.

“The girls now know how well we must play if we want to compete against the top teams in the country.”

Kansas will travel Friday to Penn State.
