Kansas University men’s basketball forward Moulaye Niang will seek a medical redshirt for the 2005-06 season, coach Bill Self announced Friday. Niang, a 6-foot-11 senior, will not participate during the upcoming season because of a recurring back condition.

Moulaye Niang always has been a good guy to have on Kansas University’s men’s basketball team, his teammates and coaches say, simply because he is a good guy. “He is so well-liked by everybody, and he’s improved as a player, too,” KU coach Bill Self said.
