Kansas University linebacker Nick Reid received another honor Tuesday when he was named to the 2005 Associated Press All-America third team.
Two weeks ago the senior standout was voted Big 12 Conference defensive player of the year by the league’s coaches.
While Reid, who has 106 tackles this season — including 15 for a loss and three sacks, along with an interception and two forced fumbles, lost out on the AP Big 12 Connference defensive player of the year to Texas Tech’s Dwayne Slay, he was voted to the AP All-Big 12 Conference first-team defense for the second straight season.
Texas quarterback Vince Young beat out 2004 Heisman Trophy winner and 2005 Heisman finalist Matt Leinart of Southern California, at quarterback of the 2005 A-P All America team.
