Jayhawks’ Kemp named Big 12 player of week

Crystal Kemp’s impressive performance Sunday against Wisconsin has earned the 6-foot-2 senior recognition as Big 12 Conference player of the week.

Kemp posted a double-double with a career-high 28 points to go with 11 rebounds while playing a career-high 49 minutes in the 90-87double overtime win.

Earlier in the week against UMKC, the Topeka High product scored a game-high 16 points to go with four rebounds while only playing 27 minutes.

For the week, Kemp averaged 22 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field.
