Dist. Atty. Charles Branson said his office was close to making a decision about whether charges would be filed against anyone involved in a brawl earlier this year that included former Kansas University basketball player J.R. Giddens.
“It’s going to be before the month’s out,” Branson said.
He said he was still reviewing evidence, including photographs and audio tapes of interviews.
Giddens suffered a slash to his calf in a knife fight May 19 outside the Moon Bar, 821 Iowa. Police sent a report to Branson’s office in mid-June for consideration of charges.
