Brandon Rush, a 6-foot-6 guard from Kansas City, Mo., who Thursday and Friday visited Indiana, says he wants to make a visit to Kansas University before finalizing his college choice.
He said he wanted to visit KU either Monday or Tuesday.
“I would think I’ll make an announcement of where I’m going to go right after I go to Kansas,” Rush told the Indianapolis Star after his campus visit.
He said Indiana was an attractive option.
“Indiana lost Bracey Wright and they need players to come in here, and I think I could be a big part of what they want to do this season,” Rush said. “When you think of Indiana, you think of basketball. I know the people around here love basketball.”
Rush said Friday he was down to three schools, KU, Indiana and Illinois.
Rush told the Indianapolis media he spent all day Friday “hanging out” with IU coach Mike Davis, and went to a movie with his recruiting host, Robert Vaden. Rush said he has known Davis since his freshman year in high school.
Some analysts had predicted Rush would jump straight to the NBA after playing the past two seasons at Mount Zion Academy in Durham, N.C., but now it’s likely he will play one year of college basketball first.
