Women’s golf in 9th

? Kansas University was in ninth place, but only six strokes out of third place, after the first round of the Big 12 Conference women’s golf championships Friday at Texas University Golf Club.

Led by Chelsey Pryor, the Jayhawks carded an 18-hole score of 311. Oklahoma State led after the first day with a 295. Texas was second at 297. Baylor, Nebraska and Texas Tech were tied for third at 305.

Pryor, a junior from Washington, Pa., carded a 73 and was tied for fourth place in the medalist compilations.
