Kansas University athletic director Lew Perkins received the NIT’s “Man of the Year” at halftime of Thursday night’s game in New York. The NIT annually cites a coach or administrator for contributions to basketball. Texas Tech coach Bob Knight was the winner last year. Perkins was named this year’s recipient in early February.
