KU recruit alters plans

By J-W Staff Reports     Sep 18, 2004

Because of weather concerns in the Atlanta area because of Hurricane Ivan, high school hoops prospect C.J. Miles, a 6-foot-5 guard from Dallas, has pushed back his visit to Georgia Tech this weekend until Oct. 8-9.

Miles, who has visited Kansas University, will visit his other finalist, Texas, Oct. 15-16.

Kansas will have a visitor next weekend in Brandon Costner, 6-9 from East Orange, N.J., who has a final three of KU, North Carolina State and UCLA.

The Jayhawks, who have one scholarship to give, recently stopped recruiting Kevin Rogers following the oral commitment of Julian Wright, 6-8 from Chicago Heights, Ill.

KU also has landed commitments from Micah Downs, 6-8 from Bothell, Wash., and Mario Chalmers, 6-1 from Anchorage, Alaska.
