In a less-than-auspicious start to the third season of “Wanna Whack Woodling?” Journal-World sports editor Chuck Woodling went 9-2, missing victories by Iowa State and Colorado.
Eighty-two participants had better records than Woodling, including 20 perfect 11-0 entries. Another 75 contestants tied Woodling’s 9-2 mark.
Craig Cain-Borgman of Emmaus, Pa., won this week’s contest, as his prediction of a 20-10 KU victory came closest to the actual 21-3 final score. Cain-Borgman will receive a We Whacked Woodling T-shirt for his victory.
