Norman, Okla. ? Kansas University senior goalkeeper Meghan Miller collected her Big 12 Conference-leading 10th shutout, and the Jayhawks claimed their sixth straight victory, a 3-0 rout of Oklahoma on Sunday at John Crain Field.
Miller made three saves and has allowed just one goal in the last five games. She lowered her league-best goals-against average to 0.32.
“We played well,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “Our bench did well today, they came in and did a great job maintaining the intensity”
Kansas improved to 14-2-0 overall, 6-1 in the Big 12. OU fell to 6-6-3 and 2-5 after its worst loss of the season.
The Jayhawks scored in the 20th minute when senior midfielder Lauren Williams played the ball to senior Monica Brothers, who finished for her first goal of the season. Later in the first half, junior Jessica Smith scored her first goal in 11 games.
Kansas added a goal in the 63rd minute. Junior forward Caroline Smith scored KU’s third goal off an assist from Holly Gault in the 63rd minute. It was Caroline Smith’s team-leading seventh of the season.
