Kansas soccer heads to Oklahoma to face OSU, OU

? Kansas University’s No. 9-ranked soccer team will try to add the two Oklahoma schools to its list of Big 12 Conference victims this weekend.

The Jayhawks will meet Oklahoma State at 7 tonight, then tangle with Oklahoma at 1 p.m. Sunday in Norman, Okla.

Kansas enters the weekend 12-2-0 overall and 4-1 in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks have won four consecutive matches and have the best record after 14 games in program history.

Junior Caroline Smith leads the Jayhawks with six goals, five assists and 17 points. Senior Rachel Gilfillan and sophomore Nicole Cauzillo have combined for nine goals and 23 points.

Also, senior goal keeper Meghan Miller leads the Big 12 in goals-against average (0.36) and save percentage (.923).

Oklahoma State is 10-2-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the league. The Cowgirls have won only once in their last four outings since beginning the season 9-0-1. OSU leads the Big 12 with 43 goals scored and an average of 3.07 per game.

Oklahoma (6-4-3, 2-3-0) tied its longest winning streak this season by defeating Baylor and Texas Tech last weekend.
