The Kansas women’s basketball team is still undefeated with the help of senior Crystal Kemp. The media recognized Kemp’s efforts Monday by naming her the Big 12 player of the week. This is the first time since 2000 that a KU women’s basketball player has received this honor.

Senior Crystal Kemp led the Jayhawks to a 90-65 victory Sunday over Pittsburg State. Kemp scored 24 points on 11-of-18 shooting. The Topeka native says her teammates’ shooting contributed to their success.

Last year, KU women’s basketball star Crystal Kemp became the 18th Jayhawk to score 1,000 points. In addition, Kemp is just one of 11 former Jayhawks to score that many points and grab 500 rebounds. This season, Kemp hopes to add to those numbers.

Junior forward Crystal Kemp reached two milestones Wednesday when the Jayhawks took on the Red Raiders at Allen Fieldhouse. Kemp collected her 1,000th point and grabbed her 500th rebound, which made her the 11th Jayhawk to ever accomplish these milestones.
