AUBURN HILLS, MICH. ? Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self and his staff members weren’t the only coaches to watch Larry Brown’s Detroit Pistons practice Wednesday.
In all, 30 coaches — including Missouri’s Quin Snyder and Southern Mississippi’s Larry Eustachy — watched Brown’s session.
“I am flattered that they would come,” former KU coach Brown said. “That’s the nicest compliment anybody can pay you, to come and watch your practice. Guys come here and ask questions, and a lot of times you end up learning more than they do.”
KU aide Danny Manning said he enjoyed watching his former team’s title run last postseason.
“That was a great year for them,” Manning said. “And I could see it coming, especially with them bringing coach Brown in.”
