Lake Forest, Ill. ? Kansas University’s men’s golf team was in 12th place Monday after the first round of the 18-team Windon Memorial at Conway Farms Golf Club.
KU opened the two-day tournament with a first-round total of 305 strokes. The second round was stopped because of darkness.
Kevin Ward and Barrett Martens lead the Jayhawks after shooting opening-round 74’s to tie for 21st. Andrew Price is tied for 29th at 75. Tyler Docking is tied for 81st place with an 82 in the first round. Ryan Rainer shot a first-round 83 to tie for 85th.
