Stewart loving visit to KU

Kansas has a visitor in town for tonight’s men’s basketball game against St. Joseph’s.

Rodrick Stewart, a 6-foot-4 guard from Seattle’s Rainer Beach High who recently decided to transfer from USC, is visiting KU, where he is considering a transfer.

“I can’t see anything better than this right here,” Stewart told the Journal-World before tonight’s game. “This place is great. I’ll probably have a decision in a week. I’m not sure if I want to make any other visits.”

Stewart, a high school teammate of KU freshman C.J. Giles, also said he would return home after the trip and talk about it with his father over Thanksgiving.

Stewart, who is also considering Gonzaga and Oklahoma State, averaged 4.4 points for the Trojans as a freshman. He started 17 of 27 games, hitting 34.4 percent of his field goals and 10 percent (3 of 30) of his three-pointers. He was recruited to USC by current KU assistant coach Kurtis Townsend.
