West Lafayette, Ind. ? The Kansas University men’s golf squad placed 16th at the 27-team NCAA Central Regional on Saturday at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. With the finish, KU did not earn a berth in the NCAA Finals, ending its season.
The Jayhawks posted a three-round total of 926 on the par-72 layout. Andrew Price led the Jayhawks, scoring a three-round total of 230. Price tied for 45th place in the individual standings.
“Today was a tough day for us,” KU coach Ross Randall said. “The course played hard once again. We started out strong, but didn’t finish strong.
“Overall, it was an up-and-down year for us,” Randall said. “We had some high spots during the year. We would have liked to finish better than what we did. It kind of leaves a bad taste in our mouths to finish the season poorly.”
