KU travels to league

? Texas, Kansas University and Kansas State — the only Big 12 Conference schools that sponsor rowing — will collide in the league championships today at Tuttle Creek Lake.

Texas is favored to repeat. Earlier this season, the Longhorns defeated KU in four out of five races in Lawrence.

Kansas also has rowed against K-State. The Jayhawks captured a dual with the Wildcats April 10 to win their sixth straight Kansas Cup.

“I feel like we have improved a lot since the last time we faced Texas,” KU coach Rob Catloth said. “We are confident we can give Texas and Kansas State a good race.”

Racing is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. The Jayhawks will conclude their spring season May 15-16 at the South-Central Regionals in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
