Norman, Okla. ? Kansas University’s Charisse Bacchus earned All-Big 12 Conference honors with a sixth-place finish in the long jump, and five KU athletes qualified Friday for today’s finals at the Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Bacchus posted a season-best distance of 20-feet, 33/4-inches.
Gavin Ball also scored for the Jayhawks with an eighth-place finish in the shot put at 54-1.
Laura Lavoie advanced to the 1,500-meter finals after qualifying eighth in the prelims in 4:27.55. Brooklyn Hann reached the finals of the 100-meter hurdles with a prelim time of 13.96. Octavia Garrett and Stacy Keller also advanced to the finals in the 400-meter dash prelims after qualifying fifth (55.20) and ninth (55.59).
Kim Clark turned in the sixth-best 800-meter time of 2:09.55.
