Holders of the 550 tickets distributed by the Kansas University athletic department for tonight’s NCAA Tournament game between KU and Illinois-Chicago in Kemper Arena also will be admitted to the first game of the night session.
Providence and Pacific will meet at 6:25 p.m., with the KU-UIC game scheduled to follow 30 minutes after its conclusion, or about 9 p.m.
The tickets are not good for the afternoon session that pits Memphis against South Carolina at 11:30 a.m. and Oklahoma State against Eastern Washington about 2 p.m.
If Kansas defeats the Flames, the Jayhawks will meet the Providence-Pacific winner approximately 3:50 p.m. Sunday, or 30 minutes after the 1:20 p.m. game matching the victors of the afternoon session.
Tickets for the Sunday afternoon session will be distributed from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Westin Crown Center, KU’s headquarters hotel, or beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Kemper Arena will-call window.
KU officials must wait until Saturday to distribute the tickets because the NCAA does not make them available until after the Saturday winners have been determined.
