? Kansas University’s Brooklyn Hann was 26th in the triple jump qualifying Friday at the NCAA Outdoor track and field championships.

Hann, a junior from Sacramento, Calif., leaped 39 feet, 81/2 inches at Myers Field on the Texas University campus.

On Thursday, Hann and KU teammates Duchess Williams, Kim Clark and Octavia Garrett failed to advance after the 4×400 relay prelims. Their time of 3:40.72 was the slowest in the 20-team field.

Also Thursday, KU senior Laura Lavoie finished 10th in her heat of the 1,500-meter run and failed to move on. Lavoie was clocked in 4:24.36.

KU’s Benson Chesang is scheduled to run in the 5,000 today. That event was originally set for Wednesday, but postponed because of lightning.
