Former Kansas University track star Charlie Gruber came up short in his most recent attempt to make the Olympics.
Gruber on Wednesday finished the DN Galan Super Grand Prix in Stockholm, Sweden, in fourth with a time of 3:38.02, more than two minutes slower than the Olympic “A” standard of 3:36.00.
The former Jayhawk will have another shot at qualifying Sunday in the KBC Night of Athletics Grand Prix II meet in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium.
