Julie Wright, a Kansas University assistant softball coach the last five years, has been named head coach at Akron University.
Wright, 32, played softball at Ohio University as an outfielder and shortstop in the early 1990s. She was an aide at Ohio U. from 1996 to ’99.
Wright replaces Deanna Parks, who resigned in May.
