Falcons cut Whittemore

The Atlanta Falcons cut former Kansas University quarterback Bill Whittemore on Wednesday, the same day they signed former Virginia and Western Carolina quarterback David Rivers.

Rivers recently completed his NFL Europe season with the Berlin Thunder.

Whittemore was signed by the Falcons as a rookie free agent May 18. As a senior at KU, he started 10 games and completed 159-of-263 passes for 2,385 yards and a school record 18 touchdowns.
