HILO, Hawaii ? Kansas University’s baseball squad split its final doubleheader with Hawaii-Hilo Monday, winning the first game, 3-2, and losing the second, 4-3.
Junior Andy Scholl went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Ryan Baty was 2-for-4 with an RBI in the opener.
Junior Travis Metcalf had a hit and scored two runs in the second game. Junior relief pitcher Andrew Rebar allowed no runs in four innings for KU (4-2). Hilo is 2-4.
Late Sunday, Baty and Sean Richardson each slapped three hits as KU won, 14-9. Richardson had two doubles and drove in three runs.
Baty had a double and two singles and scored twice. Every KU starter had at least one hit.
KU wraps up the seven-game series tonight.
