Kansas wins big in Hawaii

? Kansas University’s baseball team showed its power Saturday, routing Hawaii-Hilo, 14-2.

After splitting the season-opening doubleheader Friday, the Jayhawks (1-2) used a total of 19 hits to score 14 runs.

KU junior Andy Scholl went 2-for-3 and drove in three to boost his team-leading RBI total to five. Senior Matt Tribble, who extended a three-game hit streak, was 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Junior catcher Sean Richardson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and scored a run.

Junior-college transfer Mike Zagurski made his first start as a Jayhawk and picked up the win. The Omaha, Neb., native worked five innings, allowed two runs on four hits and struck out one.
