Padgett practices, but doubtful for today’s game

Kansas University freshman forward David Padgett practiced Friday, and there’s a chance he could play in today’s KU-Texas A&M game.

“He was able to go a little bit today, just a couple of drills running,” KU coach Bill Self said of the 6-foot-11 freshman, who missed the Kansas State game because of a slight stress fracture in his left foot.

“He said he felt good, but we’re going to wait and see if he experiences any soreness at all. The chances are probably decent he’ll experience some soreness based on what I’ve been told, but he said he felt great.”

Self said it would be “a game-day decision” as to whether Padgett played, but the KU coach added the freshman officially was listed as doubtful.

Self said Jeff Graves would start if Padgett was unable to go.

Self also said Aaron Miles and Bryant Nash, who have had sprained ankles, practiced Friday and would be able to play. Keith Langford, who has had flu-like symptoms, also practiced Friday and will play.
