Because of constant rain and unplayable field conditions, Saturday’s college schedule in the Softball By the Beach Invitational in Santa Barbara, Calif., was scrapped.
Kansas University (9-4) was scheduled to play host UC Santa Barbara and Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo on Saturday. The Jayhawks defeated UC Riverside, 4-3, and Central Florida, 3-2, during the first day of the tournament Friday.
Weather permitting, Kansas will meet No. 2-ranked California this morning.
The Jayhawks’ home debut is scheduled for March 6 in the Jayhawk Classic.
