? Kansas University’s tennis team lost its fourth straight match to start the season, falling to Tulsa, 5-2, Saturday at the Michael D. Case Center.

Kansas (0-4) won the first doubles match, as sophomore Christine Skoda and freshman Brittany Brown won, 8-2, at the No. 3 spot.

The Jayhawks’ two other doubles teams each lost by two games.

In singles play, the Jayhawks needed to win four matches, but were only able to get two. Senior Emily Haylock defeated Donata Majauskaite, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2, and Brown beat Timberly Greenly, 6-3, 6-4, at the No. 4 position.

“We are right there,” KU coach Amy Hall said. “We are ready to take that next step if we can get in that right frame of mind. Give Tulsa credit for hanging in there and surviving today.”

KU will take part in the UNLV Spring Invitational on Feb. 27-29 in Las Vegas.
